Membership Eligibility Requirements: Any corporation, partnership or individual in good standing in the community and engaged in the business of manufacturing, banking, public utilities, or related activities, and operating in Connecticut or vicinity, shall be eligible for membership in the Association.
1. Manufacturing Member: A Manufacturing Member is a person or entity that, as its primary business, with its own facilities, performs primary activities in transforming inorganic or organic substances, including the assembly of parts and components, into an end item that possesses characteristics which, as a result of mechanical, chemical, or human action, it did not possess before the original substances, parts, or components were assembled or transformed.
2. Supporting Member: A Supporting Member must have specialized skills, technical expertise, and resources that support the mission, vision, and goals of the Association, and provide readily available value to the Manufacturing Members as a result of such skills and/or expertise. Supporting Members must be Connecticut-based and perform work in support of or otherwise serving CT manufacturers. Private colleges, universities, trade schools, and similar institutions will be considered for membership as Supporting Members. In order to be considered for admission as a new Supporting Member, the prospective member must submit an application accompanied by a written endorsement/recommendation from two Manufacturing Members. Following such recommendation and endorsement, the Membership Committee may elect to invite the prospective member for an interview with the Membership Committee or a portion thereof in order for the Membership Committee to determine whether such prospective member meets the qualifications set forth herein.
3. Affiliate Members. Affiliate Members will be public (including State of Connecticut) educational institutions and their governing bodies, public manufacturing training organizations, state and federal entities/agencies (by way of example and not limitation, Workforce Investment Boards, Department of Labor, Department of Economic and Community Development), chambers of commerce and collaborative organizations (by way of example and not limitation, Smaller Manufacturers Association of CT, Eastern Advanced Manufacturing Alliance, Regional Sector Partnerships, and public colleges and universities). Affiliate Members must be Connecticut-based and performing work in support of or otherwise serving CT manufacturers. Affiliate Members will not have voting rights. The Association acknowledges that Affiliate Members are valuable resources to the Association.
