The Advanced Manufacturing Technology program at CT State Community College Housatonic is a rigorous, hands-on training program designed to be completed in just two semesters. It equips students with the technical skills and confidence needed to succeed in the modern manufacturing workforce. Through intensive training in CNC machining, manual machining, blueprint reading, metrology, safety, GD&T, and foundational manufacturing math, students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience. The program emphasizes real-world application, with lectures delivered at the machines and immediate shop-based practice. Graduates leave with the ability to operate CNC and manual mills and lathes, interpret blueprints, and perform precision measurements. The ultimate goal is to produce skilled, job-ready professionals prepared for immediate employment or further academic advancement toward an associate's or bachelor’s degree. The program also supports internships and industry partnerships to help students transition directly into the workforce.
